This Model Anganwadi is developed for the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka, as a scalable design framework to guide Anganwadi construction across the state. Conceived as a replicable system rather than a single building, it translates research on early childhood development into clear architectural guidelines.
The proposal offers adaptable prototypes with multiple area options and spatial standards that prioritise safety, dignity, daylight, ventilation, and flexibility. These guidelines are now used by government agencies, panchayats, nirmithi kendras, and contractors across Karnataka—ensuring consistent quality while allowing local adaptation.
