COMMUNITY LIBRARY

  •  Area:  1800 sq ft
    Year:  2021
    Location:   Vijayanagara District, Karnataka

  • This community library was designed as a quiet, inclusive public space that supports reading, learning, and everyday community use. The planning is guided by clear area zoning, segregating noisy public zones, buffer spaces, and quiet reading areas to ensure comfort and concentration.
  • Borrowing from local vernacular principles, the library adopts a central access spine, symmetrical planning, and a colonnaded entrance, creating a familiar and welcoming civic presence. Natural light, ventilation, and sustainable acoustic strategies are integral to the design, improving spatial quality while reducing dependence on mechanical systems.
